The People's University challenges the classic colonial model, which claims exclusive ownership of legitimate knowledge. Autonomous education involves reconciling and confronting different viewpoints, particularly those of peoples and scientific knowledge, and emphasizes the inseparability of theory and practice.
When the community establishes the school, it is important to remember that the community itself is the school.
